Gettin' Scrappy
It's that time of year again...time to get a costume ready for the EXPO classes' Trashion Fashion show! Sam wanted to "start a tradition" and go back to SCRAP Denton to pick up the items he needed for his outfit. Each item he uses needs to be something that might otherwise be thrown away, so there's no better place than this. This year's theme: TOYS. Sam chose a classic - the Rubik's Cube.
It's been a long time since I've seen either of these things!
We decided to cover each side of the Rubik's Cube with a different type of trash. Here we are, counting out old plastic bottle caps. We also picked up CDs, 3.5in floppy disks (to add to the ones I had in the garage from college courses), some felt and a box to make a hat. We had the foam, construction paper, elastic and an old pair of hole-y jeans at home. The best SCRAP find were the five, individual, square pieces of cardboard that were the perfect size and shape to tape together to make the cube. Lucky find!
Time to take it all home, heat up the glue-gun, and get scrappy!
