Sleepy Lunch

Evie had a hard time waking up from her nap the other day.  But she was very hungry for noodles, so she hung in there and enjoyed each and every bite, slowly but surely.  In the image above, she sat there with her spoon in her mouth for a long while, thinking about something, probably napping.  The second image was not taken mid-blink; she was simply resting her sleepy eyes while savoring each parmesan-cheesy finger.

Lunch perked her up a little bit, but that's still kind of a sleepy stare.  Such a sweet girl. 

1-2-3-JUMP!

Gram and Pops came over for a swim Saturday.  Evelyn jumped and jumped and jumped.  Forward, backward, "wahn, tuhoo, eee, SHUM!"  When we got home, she ate half of her peanut butter sandwich, but that was all she had energy for.  Once her head hit the tray she was out.  It's hard work being a busy little fishie.

Arboretum

As soon as school was out for the summer, we headed to the Dallas Arboretum with Gram.  She's an Arboretum expert, having been so many times with her students.  She knew all the best places for the kids and I to try during our first visit to the new children's area and I have to say it was

really

cool.  Everybody had a blast and we can't wait to go back in the fall when the weather is nice.

What Dancing Looks Like Now

This is what "dancing" looks like now.  It's become a completely passive activity.  She sits at the computer and watches

other

kids dance to "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "YMCA".  You can see a little tear in her eye; she'd been crying because I couldn't read her mind to know which dance she wanted to watch.  Once I got her settled, she looked so tiny and was watching so intently that I had to grab my camera.
