Garden Sticks
Spent the better part of an afternoon painting and labeling sticks and then marking our plants and seeds so we know what's what. They add some pretty color to the garden, too!
A Veggie Garden
We've decided to try some veggies in the back corner of our yard where we have our little gum tree. We've got zucchini, yellow squash, butternut squash, watermelon (seeds) and pumpkin (seeds). We'll see what takes!
Lettuce & Strawberries & Cucumber
We are planting a garden! First thing - plant some container veggies!
A Dip in the Creek
After our car-picnic and some time on the playground, we ventured down to the part of the West Rowlett Creek that flows through Limestone Quarry Park. The kids had fun skipping rocks, or in Evie's case, chucking huge rocks into the creek to see the splash and hear the "plunk" sounds they made when they hit the water.
We finished our little creek adventure with Evie taking an accidental dip in the creek. She was walking along a narrow strip between the trees and the water, lost her footing, and fell in slowly. It was almost like watching her fall in slow motion. She just kind of dropped to the ground and slid in. The water was up to her chest and it was a cool, windy day, but she didn't freak out. I stripped her down to her undies when we got to the car and she worried the whole drive home that a policeman would pull us over because she had no clothes on!
Car Picnic & New Playground
Grabbed some Chick-Fil-A and picked out a new-to-us park in Frisco, thinking we'd have a picnic before we played, but it was unbelievably windy! So we decided to have a car picnic instead and then explored the playground equipment. It was a cute spot - we'll definitely return!
STEM Boxes & Library Time
We stopped by the Frisco Library for some books and the next copy of Homeland for Brian and I to watch. Sam and Evie love using the STEM boxes they have in the back of the children's section. They experimented with gears, energy, geometry and more!
Andrew's Work
Visiting Andrew at work after lunch! We walked through Mrs. Bush's garden as well and saw a few Texas Bluebonnets poking through the grass, but not many!
Snider Plaza Lunch
Lunch with Andrew and Gram at East Hampton Sandwich Co. in Snider Plaza, right up the street from where Mommy and Daddy got married!
Denton Clear Creek - Spring Break Hike
The kids and I decided to take a hike on our first day of Spring Break. We'd been to Clear Creek in Denton once before on a scorching hot September day, so it was a nice change to be able to explore this area in cooler weather. Signs of spring were everywhere!
Farm Day in PreK
Yee-haw! Farm Day in PreK was lots of fun! We pet some farm animals, milked a pretend cow, sheared a pretend sheep, and touched some worms. We learned what a clothesline is and practiced hanging up some of Ms. Toni's clothes, lassoed a plastic steer, and played with the pretend campfire. Being a country girl is hard work!
