Gram helped Sam decorate pumpkin cookies, just like we used to when Andrew and I were little. He did a good job of stirring the icing and putting candy corn eyes on the pumkin heads. Then he started sticking his fingers in the icing and shoving raisins in his mouth. So Gram helped him finish and we called on Pops to decorate one for us. Fun and tasty!
We made some "heart cookies" for Valentine's Day.
I didn't like them very well, but Sam had fun making them and it gave us something to do during the ice storm.
We joined Pops and Gram Sunday for a combination Birthday/Super Bowl party.
Sam dressed in his football jersey (Cowboys colors...sorry Strakas) and had a great time cooking with Gram, tossing the football around with Andrew and helping Pops blow out the candles on his birthday cake.

The answer is always "yes" to the question, "Do you want to help Mommy cook?
In this first picture, we were making apple cinnamon muffins. Sam LOVES muffins! He helped me stir the batter and he put all the papers in the muffin tins.
He's likes to "wash dishes", which means washing his toys in the bubbles, and loves to take a whiff of everything I chop, measure and stir. He pretended not to like this lemon..."eww" he said...but I know he didn't really mean it!
We've done even more work in the kitchen recently...more to come on our yummy heart cookies!
Meet Sam, our Spritz Sprinkle-Shaker extraordinaire.
Christmas offically doesn't begin until the first batch of Spritz come out of the oven. This year, Sam was our little helper, and he did a great job of shaking the sprinkles and "pretty balls". When Gram asked Sam, "Do you want green or red?", Sam eyes got big and he shook his head YES, so green
and
red is what he got, one color for each hand. Our cookies have never looked prettier!
